KSTU is the largest educational institution among the universities of the Federal Agency for Fishery. Generally, about 10,000 students are trained in the higher and secondary vocational education programs. The university is developing according to the model of an industry-specific technical university. Priorities of the university: involvement of the educational institutions of the Federal Agency for Fishery in the global academic and scientific environment; membership in international organizations; participation of the sail training vessels "Kruzenshtern" and "Sedov" in worldwide events.
