VNIRO is a basic research institute of the fisheries industry of Russia; it has 28 scientific organizations in all basin districts as branches. The Institute develops biological substantiations for TACs and recommended catch of aquatic biological resources, has innovative solutions for the development of mariculture and aquaculture, genetics, molecular biology, fish processing technology and non-fishing objects, and provides a comprehensive assessment of the impact on aquatic biological resources.
